One of our core values is Community Engagement. We want the families in our community to know that we’re not just a church in the community but that we’re a church FOR the community. We host 3 South City sponsored events for the community every year where we give away food and create an environment of family fun. Our message at these events is that we’re here to serve, to love this community without condition and to be available to anyone who has need for a spiritual family or connection.

We host an after school program called Life Skills for Youth. At LSY, we have the opportunity to bless over 250 kids everyday. We want those families to know that we love their kids and we love them. We want these kids to do well in school, to have great opportunities for learning and developing life skills but we also have the incredible opportunity to tell them about Jesus and to help them become disciples. LSY has been a partner with us here for over 10 years and we love how God is helping grow the vision and effectiveness of the program to reach more kids in the community.

We also host the Southwest Eagles Soccer Club on our soccer fields, which consists of over 250 kids from the community not connected with LSY. This missional connection helps us to engage the Hispanic community in Southwest Little Rock and with the recent hire of our Discipleship pastor Elvis Garcia, we can now communicate and build relationships that can become discipleship opportunities.

South City also has a Food Pantry and a Clothes Closet where over 100 folks from our community can come monthly who are in need and receive groceries and clothes items to help them get through the week. We host this time every other week and also serve those in need who come at other times as well.

South City loves to host outside events as well that bless our community. This year we’ve hosted the Drug and Alcohol Prevention Conference, One Voice (City-wide night of prayer and worship), Martin Luther King, Jr. Summit, The Minority Health Fair, Hispanic Pastors Summit, and City Church Network of AR Pastors meetings.
